The practitioner utilizes patient report, observation of the tongue and pulses, palpation of the body, and observation of the patient to determine the patient's Chinese medical diagnosis. With this diagnosis, the practitioner determines the imbalances present within the patient and treats the patient accordingly, using acupuncture needles and other Chinese medical therapies, like cupping, gua sha, and/or tui na to correct these imbalances. Each treatment is customized to the patient's presentation of symptoms and imbalances.

Heather is a licensed acupuncturist, licensed and board certified massage therapist, and Doctor of Oriental Medicine practicing healing and wellness therapies in Baltimore and Arnold.  She specializes in sports injury/recovery, chronic pain management, fertility/pregnancy/post-partum support, and anxiety.

Her perspective on health and healing is an integrative one. She believes all facets of an individual’s mind, body, and spirit to be essential in distinguishing patterns of disharmony, determining treatment goals, and creating a treatment plan that will best suit them. She is a passionate professional and believes this is conveyed through her work, so it is important to her that patients have as much interest in their well-being as she does. She envisions her patients developing a caring relationship with themselves so they may recognize, create, and take ownership of their own healing. Her nature is to be adaptive-to help others grow and heal- so she encourages an adaptive relationship with her patients.

To Heather, acupuncture and Chinese herbs are incredible means by which she can support her clients in management and even complete recovery of symptoms.  As a general practitioner, she works with clients who have a variety of clinical presentations, from anxiety and depression to plantar fasciitis, migraines, chronic low back pain, sports performance, and a multitude of other areas. She specializes in sports injury/recovery and in fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum support.

While the bulk of her massage therapy practice focuses on patients dealing with chronic pain, injury trauma, or maladies associated with being a current/former athlete, she is also just as delighted to provide a relaxing massage for those seeking tranquility. Her goal of treatment is to remain dynamic with her clients’ ever-evolving needs. She incorporates Orthopedic, Neuromuscular, Positional Release, Myofascial Release, Sports, Deep Tissue, and Swedish massage therapy principles into every session. If appropriate, she includes stretches in her sessions and as education for clients to ease their discomfort between treatments. She also absolutely loves supporting women through massage therapy for fertility, pregnancy, and post-partum and is rapidly expanding this specialization. She trained through Claire Marie Miller seminars and became an instructor to teach these modalities in 2016.

Over the course of her career, she has been privileged to work with the LA Rams, Olympic medalists, the Baltimore Ravens, various other professional and amateur athletes, help 65+ couples conceive, and achieve remarkable healing outcomes through treatment, such as helping patients with successful pregnancy after years of difficulty with infertility, helping patients fully recover from Bell’s Palsy, and helping patients regain their lives by living with less chronic pain.
